MMO: AI proof-of-concept: In Action

I have successfully added the most basic of AI types to the game. The AI is the immobile Turret enemy (10 hp), equipped with the basic "Rifle" weapon (1 bullet every 2/3 second with a 0.5 damage rate.)

Below: Six turrets with Rifles are no match for a Missile Launcher.

These enemies will be the first you face, and will range from 10 to 50 hp, with weapons from Rifles to Laser Cannons. Other enemy types will include footsoldiers and vehicles. I hope to have these enemies be real challenges for the players.

LotA: I have FINISHED the mission system! Eight goal types, plus enemy fleets and timed missions. Next on the list is the Campaign, which will take you from Greenland to Ireland, and from Africa to Scandanavia as you seek vengeance upon those who have harmed you.

Don't hold your breath: I have no plans to release a demo in 2006.
