Webcomic: What do you think?

Posted by omicron1 on Dec. 13, 2006, 5:47 p.m.

…Ok. I am an avid reader of many different webcomics, from Alice! to Zortic. I have not gone for this long time without being seduced by the idea of making my own… and now I have utterly given in to that temptation. I have created a descriptive file concerning my planned storyline; I have chosen the setting; and I have prepared the first (5-panel) comic. If people like the looks of it, I will continue updating at a rate of ~1 per week.

WebComic current status: First Arc storyline written. First page done+released.

In other news, I greatly increased DoC's run speed with a nice little bit of work. City-building should be quite fast now. As a little treat, here's a nighttime image I call "From the Darkness."

you can't really seperate space like you can land, there's no apparent boundary O_o

You can divide the oceans among countries; thus, in a similar way, you can separate space.

In this case, the various regions are only loosely defined; status relative to other regions, wealth and power of nearby planets, military might, etc. all play into the location of boundary lines.

Of course, this is a 2d map of a 3d space, and the marked boundaries only hold true for this cross-section of space; however, as it is on the edge of an elliptical galaxy, the boundaries are roughly similar throughout.

Sona were a species in Star Trek =0

I've only ever seen ~4 of the first season of star trek; thus, my race naming was not influenced by that.

In my Empire of the Stars universe, the Sona are an invading race from an unknown location. They arrived in the New Galaxy about 200 years before the Great Exodus, and proceeded to take nearly all of the galaxy, in the process driving the Teiron close to extinction. During the war that followed the Great Exodus, the Sona were driven back and subdued; and are now (70 years afterwards) a self-contained race/people group. There is an uneven peace between them and the Terran/Teiron alliance, and many suspect that, while they outwardly claim to be peaceful, their violent, xenophobic natures are simply buried for the time being.

*cough* Does this have anything to do with the fact that I started one? I think it certainly does…

You started a webcomic? I didn't know…

…by the way, your hypothesis is completely wrong.

Meh, I'm just accusatory because it seems people are stealing all my ideas/stuff lately. I'll do/say something, and then, a short while later, someone does the same exact thing, claiming originality.

I'll give you my belief, but *cough*MrPacman, stealing my Run-Escape joke*cough*.

The comic is pretty cool. It sounds as if you've been thinking of the story alot, and its not so bad looking either..
