Bday summary + DoC demo progress

Posted by omicron1 on April 9, 2007, 2:20 p.m.

A summary of my birthday: Draft registration, 1gb thumbdrive, T-shirt (in latin: I came, I saw, I want to go home), $50 (exchanged for a Steam-activated copy of Medieval 2: Total War), $18 (no purpose yet), $25 Amazon gift certificate (used to purchase KOTOR2 and Baldur's Gate 2 (w/ expansion)), spice cake.

Fun games you should try:

* Medieval 2: Total War (if you haven't played this yet, go do so. A deep, fun, and beautiful RTT/TBS)

* Sins of a Solar Empire beta (A "RT4X," this game plays like Supreme Commander crossed with Homeworld. You have to preorder to play, but I think it's worth it.)

* Etherlords 2 (more TBS/RPG gameplay than you can shake a stick at)

Demo progress for Dawn of Civilization:

* implemented Militia, Bowman units

* implemented demo map

* implemented various terrain+map enhancements

* Fixed+tested unit creation

* Testing/implementing battles.

To go:

* Finish battles/unit control

* Tighten cursor accuracy

* Add catapult as a unit

* Add Scout Cavalry as a unit

* Create scenario triggers/framework

* Test

* Release

My friend has that shirt. It's a good shirt to have.

DoC has the best graphics ever on a GM game. I'm <s>jealous</s> impressed.
