…is in queue. (If any of you mods see this, could you hurry it along? Thanks.)
I have decided to release demos for aNET on a regular basis, rather than using the Major Release Only method that I used in DoC. aNET isn't quite as "fragile" as DoC; and I don't have to worry about providing complete demos each time.Anyway…DoC:* Added random map scripting, and the first script: River Valley. (Plateaus mark the edges of a wide valley with a river at the bottom) This will be an INCREDIBLY useful feature for generating maps that look "natural." More on this later…* Added auto-forestation feature to the editor* Messed with the game camera I'm torn between a free-look camera (slightly more difficult to use) and the original, scrolling camera (limited viewing angles, but a "transparent" feature) Anyway, I believe that the typical "locked angle" RTS camera simply cannot be used. When I tried it, I immediately missed the ability to zoom down and scan the landscape… can't see why more modern RTS games haven't implemented that feature; it's incredibly useful…Todo: Testing, testing, testing. Lots of testing. And efficiency. This is one argument for a locked camera - much less stuff to render. Also, as it was requested: An official reference to Musiclib. Apparently (I've never used it before), Musiclib acts as a distribution hub for music files and tools. Could come in handy for the GM music community.
Sounds cool. I'd like to see it, especially since most of your games are really fancy. Heh, I need to go back and nominate you for something on the GM awards. Probably for artist or something.
Check your email.
Thank you very much, flashback.
Cool, I can't wait to play it.
Yayness ^_^
