One week remains before I leave for college. I will have to pack up my computer soon, so today is probably my last day of outside contact before a two-week hiatus. (On the plus side, Wheaton is ranked first in the nation for food quality, so I definitely won't starve.)
I've been messing with the terrain renderer of DoC; improving its speed (doubled - from 4 minutes to 2 minutes per render) and quality. (no more black lines; shadows/highlights are smoothed)I've learned that Xtreme3d's terrain has a z-resolution of 32/256 - that is, any height variations smaller than 8 will be rounded. This is unfortunate, as it makes for very blocky terrain…In addition, combat animations have been made twice as fast - for that frenetic feeling. Finally, I have fixed the shading on units. They now look much less "blocky" than before.aNet, version 0.14, features 162+ objects; a slightly modified essence system; traps; a system for keeping track of time (hours/days/months/years); level gaining that actually does something; special room types; new commands; varying room lighting; and potions. It's a big update. Look for it sometime tonight.
Guess what today's my birthday!
And that has NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS BLOG!
