Where did this site get its name?

My life will never be complete until I know the answer to this question.

Edit:

Suddenly I've gotten some kind of reward for "running a minecraft server"… which I don't… what is this?

64 is the total lines of code written before the site was deemed releasable. Digits was just thrown in there because "64lines" doesn't sound as good.

The legend goes as follows:

Before the birth of 64Digits as we know it, FSX had an idea; "maybe I should name my site after the amount of digits that the members of my whole team have, yea, that's awesome!"

And so, he held adamant to that plan. Little did he know, when he went to count the collective digits of his four team members, he came came across a slight hitch.

His closest friend, and co-coder 'Knobby Joe' lacked both his feet, and was missing all but one finger on his right arm.

On his left arm, he was also missing one finger; his pinky. FSX did the math in his head. He though "hmm…how did I miss this, I really wanted to name the site '80Digits' D: Well…65Digits doesn't sound good though."

After a solid minute of thought, he remembered that the thumb is in fact, not a digit.

And thus, 64Digits was conceived.

He liked N64, and he liked programming.

Thus he combined part of both things that he liked, and made it one.

N64BinaryDigits -> 64Digits

Plus, the number 64 is pretty badass.

When Canadonian and FSX met, the first thing they did was moon each other. Canadonian's ass had a birthmark that spelled "64d" and FSX had one that spelled "igits".

Fun fact: when a developer programs part of 64digits, often they will pass out at the start only to wake up with their work finished, with no recollection of having typed any of it.

64ception.

Apparently GHG doesn't stalk the website too much these days, so I'll have to be the one to tell you to PLEASE DIE.

In unrelated news, I love when a google search for a technical problem returns a forum post by someone telling the person with the problem to make a google search before asking.
