WOW, a blog entry!
Well I decided to finaly create it.. Maybe it's a bit late and not really useful anymore but there was some kind of "demand" for it…So here it is: Perftest, a speed testing utility. - made for gamemaker 7.0It's basically the same as the older version for gamemaker 6.1, even the speed didn't change a lot.. Only a few new functions added and I added a few extra tests: especially a lot of motion planning tests..It still has all utilities from version 6…I hope this performance test program gets a bit more popular than the older one, (which got only downloaded 60 times in 12 months..). But I don't have any expectations anymore, seems like the gamemaker community isn't interested in optimizing at all.Well the program can be downloaded at the link above, and I suggest you read the document (or pdf file), and excel sheet before trying to run it… But for you lazy peopleexplains most important stuff: the loopspeeds, and as you can see a repeat statement is simply the fastest ("simple repeat" means a repeat statement without any counter/code inside it).bloggingAnyway some of you might wonder why I post that little (or well I don't think anybody wonders, still I'll tell this):Just nothing of interest for you guys happens at my life. I bet nobody is interested in hearing my latest new excersize for physics.
