Game Maker
Yep, my platform example was a failure. Check its rating to be exact. Quite frankly, I'm scared to see it's dismal rating and the sheer fact that I will be making a game with it. And then it dawned on me: Why did it get accepted anyway? Then another thing dawned on me: A game could be horrible, but have horrible original graphics and it not be a 1945 edit. This scared me, and now I think I will hide behind a bush…Or something to that effect. I will quit the unnamed project for a while (for obvious reasons :P) and begin work on something else…Hopefully not a platformer. Maybe a good puzzle game. I made a "Earth Protection" minigame last night, but now I am afraid it has too little content. Maybe I will submit, it is very addictive…But only if a lot of users want me to. Someone needs to write a good game guide or something, 'cos I would be the first one to read it :P!LifeThis week is my midterm week. Two tests a day. So this sucks. All this week was is tests. No classwork, no homework, nothing. Only tests. So here I am, making a cruddy engine that will be used in a game…In my spare time, of course :P…But still clueless on why it got rated 1/10 by some…But don't tell me. That'd spoil the suprise. Then Kenon would delay platformed to play Monopoly. 64Digits Monopoly. Accually, that'd be kinda cool…Thinking up all the properties(Megabot, anyone ? :P) and utilities (File Manager, Game Maker) and other stuffs that Monopoly has. I think that would be cool, tell me if you think it would be, too. But for right now, I will finish my Snickers.Random StuffRandom Food: CheetosRandom Drink: WaterRandom User: Avery99-randomscripterEDIT: I forgot to mention, the forum has changed hosts! Seriously, what were you thinking…
When you release something, you should look around and see if a better example for the same thing has not been released…. especially if it has been released over a hundred times and nearly every one is better than yours. Here is some advice:
1.Never use D&D to make an example.2.Open up GameMaker and click the Help icon. 3.Start learning GML.If you still don't get it, Here is a site that might help you to start learning GML, even though it dosent show you everything about GML: http://www.blackratstudios.com/content/DD_to_GML.htmlWhen you read this go back to the GameMaker, click the Help icon, go to the GML section, and start experimenting.Yes. I applaude you on the way you handled the responses though - no flaming, nor deletion of comments, like some people do.
That, in my book, makes you a newb, not a noob. Inexperienced, but not stupid.Just work on it more next time, and do it in GML.(b^_^)b Two thumbs up!So I should rewrite it in GML? If so, I'll get started right away. If not…I will finish my Snickers.
