Hoover's back from the grave

I'm not sure who here actually knew Hoover Ball and the Trail of Treasures, which was a project I had started on around June of 2005. A demo was released on the GMC in August and it got a pretty good reaction, with several people actively following the game left and right, asking for updates and whatnot.

Then the project was dropped in December of that same year. The usual ideas of not being inspired and just plain laziness is what drove the project to the grave. I kept thinking to myself how I would come back to it after a few months, thinking how I needed a break. But after month after month, I could not help but state that the project was merely abandoned for good.

Fast forward to last week.

I started thinking about the game again. Fumbling through the GM6, the game was about 80% complete with nearly 45 stages. The reason I quit the project was because I had planned a plethora of extras and unlockables and was getting rather annoyed at their programming. After thinking hard about the game, I decided it needed to be finished because of the amount of work I had already put into it, the short distance from me finishing it and finally, for all those people who actually wanted the game finished. I figured it would be better for me to finish the game than to forever delete it, seeing as scrapping over 5 months of work would prove to be the biggest waste of time in my life. I did not want to think about spending countless hours over a game that would never be done.

So, after much thinking about it, I'm bringing the project back from the grave. I plan to add more stages to even out the stage count per world (you see, each world had an irregular amount of stages, but I'm going to even it out). That, however, will be at the expense of a few extras I planned before. However, I figured people would enjoy more main gameplay than more extras anyway.

The revival won't take place after the completion of my current project, which I want to finish quickly as well. I'll make an exception with Hoover Ball and release that one on the GMC (I vowed to never release a game on the GMC for obvious reasons), given that there had been several "fans"–if you will– of the game and I'd like for them to play it more than anyone else.

So, the demo has been released here in 64D as the marking of the revival. I hope the reaction will be rather decent in this community as well.
