Yes, after 2+ months of being here I'm coming over here and probably stepping right off just for this Rant-n-Rave. I've been ridiculously busy and spending 99% of my free time on…other things (*coughwiicough*), so this leaves about 10 seconds to get on the site, which I usually don't even bother.

Something that terribly aggravates me is the goddamn colleges. That's right. I'm getting extremely annoyed at their constant nagging with their e-mails and crap that I really don't care about (a bunch of these are no-name colleges that tend to be especially uninformative about the e-mails), but the most annoying part is that they do it CONSTANTLY. They send you uninformative propaganda that just says "Come to @#$@# University! It's great! It really is!" every single day. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. You send out ONE e-mail and that should be enough. Why would I want to see the same "Come to @#$@# University! It's great! It really is!" every day if I read it once and I get the picture? No, the picture that I'm getting is that you're being a jackass at smothering people with these letters and secondly, coming off as desperate. So unlike what you may think, these constant letters don't "brainwash" people like regular advertising does, but turns them away. Ironic at the result, huh?

It's sad, but now I'm going to have to turn on my SPAM FILTER on these colleges. It's really sad because these are academic institutions that have degraded themselves to a level so low that they practically send spam mail that only annoys the recipients. They don't bother to make the e-mail in the slightest way as seeming that they are truly interested in you. Half of these don't even recognize you as a student. They just say "Dear _______, COME TO US! OMFG, THIS COLLEGE IS LIEK SOOOOOO COOL! SOOO GOOD! SOOO GOOD! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOD!" Again, they don't come off as professional, formal establishments with freaking dignity. They'd rather spam the hell out of potential students with their incessant babbling than actually gain some composure and start acting right. Is that really the way to treat students who might have been interested in that college? Do they seriously think that "smart students" (as they usually say) will respect them after they send the students e-mails every freaking single day? They're even starting to come off as desperate businesses in need of a few bucks from the application form.

On top of all, do they seriously think that people will listen to them after that sad display? I doubt it. I highly, highly doubt it.
