I'm really wondering why the freak everyone hates it when there's this person (usually a girl) is in front of you, says hi and smiles in your direction, you smile back and it turns out that she's talking to someone else behind her.

I personally don't care. If that happened to me (and it already has), I'd just shrug it off and say "Well I'm nice. I'm saying hi REGARDLESS of her anyway, so the fact that she smiled to me didn't tell me to smile back–I smiled because I'm nice".

I just think its stupid for people to think THEY'RE stupid for doing something like that. What if you're really nice? To top it off, you can say hi to her even when she doesn't smile at you and she'll get it.
