EspionSeiklusWMA

Seiklus, with perfect graphics, music and level design has a big issue with the music format.I want to listen to it in WMP,its quality is just so superb. So I found a .mod converter and now have some .wmas.

http://www.64digits.com/download.php?name=5KB.zip&id=15765

I remember finding Seiklus on GMG,I thought it looked bad and wouldn't get it until later.I obviously don't regret downloading it,the graphic style has that atmosphere which I can only strive towards as my dyslexia+math jitters gets in the way and makes me make patterned images.Plus my level design is crud, but Espion is doing pretty good with it.I've even reached a more open section of the level, and so of course the work has been stunted as I try to noodle out the level.

Espion's engines havn't been developed much, the enemies just do an extra check now to make sure they don't shoot an ally in an attempt to shoot you. They can still shoot each other though,if you jump after they fire at each other.I'm wondering if I should keep the bug which allows you to jump on bullets,I was able to shoot below myself and fly about twice as high as a normal jump. Its limited since there is no reloading for the entire level.

I sort of want to do some GMspeedruns now,I have AviScreen. Here is my Espion speedrun, its missing a bit and I decided to use max compression so that its really blurry.

Here is the run.The second level was brutal.

And here is the demo, the third level isn't updated.

So there you go,no poetry or anything for all you little smucks who ate that chilli that wasn't ready to be eaten by smucks.

Unless you want to tell me what you think TheFinalQuestion will be,and perhaps even TheFinalAnswer. This is the idea that questions are asked of questions, and so the final question will be the last question that has not been answered.I think it will be "Why?".

Do you have permission from Tapeworm to distribute his music?

If not, take it down or I will.

seiklus music (to accompany seiklus v1.6)

———-

seiklus doesn't have any music of its own. However, I've chosen a few

freely-distributable (as far as I know) tracked music files that I think

suit the game, and that I've configured the game to recognize and play

if they are found in the same folder as seiklus.exe.

For the original release, I packed these files in the same ZIP file as the

game, but it always bugged me to do so, because they were not my work and

I had not been able to contact the composers/arrangers to see whether they

approved.

These are the songs:

- yoghurtf.xm - "Yoghurt Factory," by Radix

- rainysum.mod - "Rainy Summerdays," by Radix

- sanxion.mod - "Sanxion," composed by Rob Hubbard and arranged by Dreamfish

- believei.xm - "Believe in Yourself," composed by Emax and arranged by Stalker

- driller.mod - "Driller," composed by Matt Gray and arranged by Warwick Gaetjens

- puzzlega.mod - "Puzzle Game 3," by Søren Gessele (a.k.a. Front 6).

- wingsofd.xm - "Wings of Death," composed by Jochen Hippel and arranged by Wire

One reason I've used these particular songs is to expose people chip music who

might never discover it otherwise. You can find lots more music of this type on

one of my pages:

I originally planned to compose my own music for seiklus, and I still might,

but for now you can use this music or just listen to something else when you play

the game.

End of file
So I take it doesn't require permission to distribute the music, especially as .wmas.

wha…?

Jabberwock 17 years, 9 months ago

Oy, you realize you can get a player for those files so you don't have to convert them? Tapeworm links to a couple on his site.

Ya,but I want to add them to my playlists in WMP and stuff. And I couldn't find any plugins.

Wow those AVIs are trés blurry.

s 17 years, 9 months ago

Yep,which makes them small.I now use 0.5+compression instead of 0.1and I think I got a different codec. However,I havn't had the time to do another run(nor can, last try was 8+minutes)since I'm trying to finish the level which is difficult,so…I fixed the shot code though,so it won't take 48shots to kill someone. When that happened,I just couldn't help thinking of PulpFiction.
