Why do you need a website if you are going to have one of them?

They are users…

They let you get a 'free subdomain'… they give you some bandwith and whatever else crap, and so you think "Oh boy! My own website! I'm going to have a guest book and a chat room and everything! Yay!" and you build one, you tell your friends, and they think oh cool! I want one! So they get a free website aswell. Then, If no-one cares about your website, they say "Oh well, this site isn't much help to us, who cares what s/he wants, Not much advertisement use!" So they give you a warning, saying 'if you register for $20.00 a month, your site won't be deleted. so youeither lose your website or pay for it.

Well, here is another way of looking at it:

You find a cool site by freewebs, it has an advertisement on it so you know where to go. You get one, and the freewebs puts an add there for you. If you don't want advertising, you have to pay for it, which will give the company enough not to use the adds. So they make money either way, and if you don't get enough users, your subdomain is dead. Your website is just a big billboard to them.

It's the same with internet hosters like .tk, you register, your site becomes a billboard, if not enough members, site goes bye bye.

Do not let them win! Get a Real Domain!
