Making a shared game?

64Digits game

Okay, I thought of something.. I think that some kind of game was made in the gmc,

where you could add stuff or aah whatever.

I think I got the idea from there but I'm not sure.

However, what do you think about we create a game, that is like.. public or something.

Then anyone can come in and add stuff on it until it is a completed game?

Someone adds some sprite, someone adds a slope function, someone adds some sounds and so on.

I just want to hear your opinion about it.

I kinda got inspiration from the "Community game" blog, heh.

Streetart

Anyone here who's into streetart? I'm kinda interested in it but I haven't done anything public,

I love Banksy's stuff and I'm often sketching on things like that at home.

To mods

When editing my blog, I saw that I couldn't check the "List in Recent" box because I had already posted a blog today. Therefore it wasn't frontpaged after editing so I had to edit once more, and then check the "List in Recent" box (I could check it now because my blog wasn't frontpaged) then submit it again. Fix?

A blog views counter for each blog would be quite good I think.

I started a shared game earlier this year, but I realized the complications of it if two people add some cool things at the same time and then both post two different versions. Merging would be a pain in some situations if the systems added cross.

If you had some sort of checkout thing (mods: v3?) that kept track of who had the file then it would most likely avoid this, but of course there are still flaws this way (mainly the unreliability of some people, and the fact that it could be abused)

Oh, and nice banner.

Yeah I thought of that two people posting at the same time thing. I thought of something similar to what you said. But yeah, even if that wasn't your point, maybe V3 could have some sort of "shared games" where it kept track of who was editing which game at the moment and so.

Thanks, it took me quite a while to make it.

"A blog views counter would be quite good I think."

That's what the hits are for. =P

Also, I'm pretty sure you'll eventually get privelages to use html, since you're a pretty good member here. =)

Haha yeah but I meant a separate one for each blog. And thank you, I hope so too =)

The issue with shared games isn't generally that 2 people edit at once, but theres always lots of conflict between what people like and don't like. It was have to be a group that agreed on everything before they did it, or the project would be shut down before getting started. As for two people editing at once, you could just post saying "My turn", and then have some basic rules. You cannot edit for more than 5 hours or your edit won't be counted or something. A key thing to remember is the more people there is, the harder it will be.

Cookinater: yeah, there aren't much to do about that issue, maybe if there is someone who doesn't like something in the game, you could vote about removing it.

Cesque: hah, or you can just register GM =)

game_devil: Finns en del här som kan svenska förutom oss
