Greetings!
I recently realized that most of the people on 64D and the gmc generally do not like platformers that much.I don't understand why. I've always loved to play platform games, and 90 % of the games I've made are platformers.I think that I've made one, maaaaaaybe two tds games, but I didn't really enjoy making them. I do not love to play tds either. Why? Well because… uh I don't know really, I think that I've seen to many of them, but that shouldn't be a reason really. So I am sorry that I can't tell you why I don't like to play top down shooters while I'm at the same time asking you why you don't like to play platformers ^^Just because I've only made 1-2 tds games doesn't mean I CAN'T make them. I know how to make a fully functionally top down shooter, I just don't LIKE to do them.So tell me: What's wrong with an platformer?Oh, I almost forgot:I have a new banner that I made in photoshop today. What do you think about it?I'm going to bed now, checking the comments tomorrow-'til then, goodbye and take care.-Isak
I've never made a platformer. I could never get the code to work when I was new to GM, and haven't tried since (except for Dominos, but thats different).
Most of my games have been TDS stlye ones. I just fun them fun to make.I prefer platformers personally because tds' get boring after a while. Though i suppose so do platformers eventually.
Nice banner btw :)Platformers are great fun IF they have mouselook, and guns :P
Top Down Shooters are good if they feature robots, or large explosions.I love platform games. Topdown shooters bore me to death. Can't stand them. They're all the same.
I don't know about platform games not getting attention though…platformers are… less generic…
Heh, I smell a wise ass…
ur banner pwns!
There is nothing wrong with platformers!
You must not have been here during the epic throwdown of ideas nicknamed the platform wars.I have a platformer example if yo want to check it out.
