…Yeah, it's kind of lame. JUST KIDDING! IT'S REALLY THE COOLEST THING IN THE WORLD!!
Now that that's over with, time for some more important things to ramble about. And by "more important" I secretly mean "of about the same importance, which is next to none."First of all, that Flash movie I said I'd have done? Not done.Secondly, I've gotten farther on Theta (my latest redo of TOPDOWN). It now has external resource loading, which is to say that the only resources in-game are two rooms, a few objects, and a bunch of scripts. EVERYTHING ELSE is loaded externally. And the way it's loaded is cool, too. It extracts all of the resources from a 7-Zip archive into a temporary folder, loads them, and then removes the temporary folder. And did I mention the whole thing is controlled by XML?
Quote: list.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?><!DOCTYPE configuration SYSTEM "list.dtd"><resourcelist> <sprites> <resource file="ball.bmp" name="BALL" /> <resource file="lawl.bmp" name="FAILURE" /> </sprites></resourcelist>
Finally what, do I know you?
Ive never seen you around here before…
…I've been here like forever…
…not really, but you know what I mean…I remember you. Oddly enough.
=)Takua is like a hermit; he fends off wild noobs with a shotgun.
You guys don't know takua108? He's one of the first 200 members, used to be pretty active, but I guess he's kind of become less so now.
Oh, and your xml system looks pretty awesome.XMLicious.
Actually, although I was one of the first 200 64D members, it was because somebody (I don't remember who) was like "Zomg check out this cool site for GM!" And I signed up, thought it looked cool, and then promptly forgot about it.
Much later, Rhys had me work on the Conflict: Online website, he listed some of the mirrors as being hosted at 64digits.com. I came back to 64D, and realized how awesome it was, and blogged for awhile now.Anyways:@DesertFox: Excellent. That's my new tag-line.@Tyranic-Moron: Thanks! I'll probably release it seperately from Theta shortly, once I've finished it (only sprite support now). It uses *forgets name*'s SimplXML [sic] system, and it works awesomely.@Arc: You need to quit using "{word}licious" as an adjective [^^]Oh…and I'm pretty sure I'm the first person to use [shorthand name abbreviation] in front of my blog titles (not counting all of the LudaBlog ripoffs; I mean like "[108] Title!").
The xml looks sexy.
