Sneak Preview of New Example

Posted by takua108 on May 17, 2006, 7:27 p.m.

Yeah, I've uploaded an example…three days ago, to be exact. Apparently, 64Digits' examples queue is full…according to firestormx, I'm sixth in line out of eleven.

The example is a short but powerful script that I've already improved since I submitted it. It's function is simple in theory, but it took over an hour to code this simple script.

What it does is it scans a folder for subfolders (only one level deep). Then, it gathers all of the files in each subfolder and commits them to memory, with each file stored in a "virtual folder," mimicking the real ones.

You're probably asking yourself: Why on Earth would I use this? Well, the way it was <i>intended</i> to be used, and the way <i>I'm</i> using it, is for custom soundtracks (meant to be used in conjunction with SXMS and Roach's ID3-reading DLL, although neither are necessary).

Well, all this talk is cheap; here's two screenshots of it in action.

Raw output of my Playlist Builder example.

My Playlist Builder integrated into Project: TOPDOWN (along with SXMS and Roach's ID3 DLL) for awesome jukebox functions.

So now that you're all done caring with my foolish examples and such, I have more things for you to read and <i>further</i> not care about.

I watched the second Naruto movie last night, and I thought it was pretty good…in comparison to the first. It was okay, nothing special. I regret staying up until one in the morning to watch it, what with three tests today…does anyone else have teachers that seem to conspire against them to have a test in, like, <i>every</i> class on the same day? Mine seem to. But I think they'll turn out okay, becase it's the end of the school year and teachers (well, <i>my</i> teachers at least) seem to be giving us easy work all the time.

As for further pointlessness, um…I've got nothing. Maybe I'll upload some art tomorrow. But nobody seems to like my art (just look for all blogs posts of mine with zero comments), so meh.

Yeah, fortunately there's an in school rule that says there can be only 2 written test per day, however you can have 2 tests and any other evaluated activities, like expositions…

…I like it, but some don't.
