I'm back. For real this time

Yeah, I'm back now. Like, for the rest of the summer. I went on the aforementioned quick trip to Denver, Colorado for my sister's bi-annual checkup and a baseball game. Now I'm back for the rest of the summer, which means I'll be staying at my house at night, not that I'll be in my house all day. Quite the contrary, as I have community service (forced upon me by my mother) to do, like, for the rest of the summer. Bleh.

Anyways, though, the baseball game was fun. I'd never been to one before (yeah, yeah, deport me already), and it was a blast. Padres vs. Rockies. Fun times. The Rockies pwned the Padres, not that I really cared, because I don't follow sports, much less baseball. The stadium was about one-quarter empty, and when I asked my sports-savvy younger cousin why, he whispered "they're not a very popular team!"

And no, I wasn't on TV.

So yeah, not much else going on. I apologize if I haven't been a very good 64Digits community member recently…I've been gone for a month, back for two days, then gone for another five days. If you're one of those people whose blogs I read regularly and I haven't read or commented on any recent posts, I'm sorry.

In preparation for the new GameCave website, I'm remaking my old <a href="http://www.thetyphooncorp.com">thetyphooncorp.com</a> website using Ajax, and then I'll use the same structure for the GameCave site ("Structure" meaning "underlying code," not "design;" that's RhysAndrews' job). You can check it out <a href="http://www.thetyphooncorp.com">here</a>. Everything's preliminary, especially the logo (yes, I am aware of the halo effect), so don't be too offset by the lack of cool-lookingness you'll find when you click the link.

Before I leave, I have to tell you about two new Steam products that will blow your mind:<ol><li>Team Fortress 2. Yes, it's finally been announced that the ever-elusive TF2 really <i>is</i> underway. The trailer can be viewed for Steam users for free <a href="steam://run/923">here</a>.</li><li>Portal. This game was designed by DigiPen students in their final year at the school as a project that was graded. Right after leaving DigiPen, Valve approached them and they were promptly hired. Portal was also modelled in the FunEditor, the program I used to make my side-scroller (see previous post). Steam users can see the hilariously awesome trailer <a href="steam://run/922">here</a>.</li></ol>Well, that's it for now, people. Those photos I mentioned last week will be hopefully posted tomorrow. So in the meantime…I dunno. Stay cool.
