[108] Proofread My New Computer Specs

Posted by takua108 on Aug. 16, 2006, 5:44 a.m.

Like I said in earlier posts, I'm getting a job. As in, 75% chance of me getting this job I've been talking about.

So assuming I get $8.00 an hour (which is what I was told), work eight hours a day and five days a week, I'll get somewhere in the $1280 range (before the evil that is taxation) after a month.

This, of course, is sufficient for me to get an awesome new computer.

So for the past three hours or so, I've been shopping around NewEgg.com for good prices on pwnin' stuff. Below is the stuff I came up with, and I need any hardware wizards to check and make sure it's all compatable. I'm pretty sure it is, but I'd rather not be wrong. Also, I already have a hard drive, speakers, a monitor, and I'm assuming I can just use my current machine's power supply (because the case below doesn't come with one).

In the meantime, I need to figure out how to kill the nl2br() that 64D uses. Any ideas?

You cant kill nl2br no matter how much you want [=)].

Anyways, it looks great. Expensive, but great.

Nice one, but I don`t see hard drive there. What about that?

Anyway nice, but if I was you, I would buy some graphic card from ATI in that price range. I think that would do better job.

You can't be under 16 and work 8 hours a day during the school year. Maybe in North Dakota, but I don't think so.

@Hali: 1.) Not during the school year, we still have summer left ya know 2.) South Dakota, not North :D

@Firebird: Yes!! But Intel is also > AMD, so meh.

@Flashback: After spending $1000, I'll be content with the motherboard's integrated sound. Later I'm also buying some sweet surround speakers. And a new monitor. Mine has this huge stain (or maybe a scratch?) on the bottom of it that makes stuff ugly. Plus, my monitor is a 17" CRT…as in, fat.

@davidp222: I already have a hard drive, monitor, power supply, and crappy speakers. They'll all be upgraded in good time. Well, all except for the power supply. Unless I add like water cooling or something later on.

@mrpacman0: Lol, I already have some in my savings account, so it'll all be good.

@smarttart62: But I wants to kills the nl2br's deadses! D:

@OpticalLiam: Indeed ^^

If you figure out how to kill that function, don't tell me, or I may get bored and fix it. Heh.
