So yeah, now that winter break is here, I'm trying to get some work done on Lucon and Roy. I'm actually starting to loose interest in Lucon right now, and Roy is my main focus. I have implemented some AI (actually borrowed from KINESIS) and here's a link to a video showing how the combat system work.
You do combos very easily, by just pressing forward and an attack button in a controled manner. If you try to button mash, it won't work and you can get hurt. It's all about timing it right. Also, you can do dash attacks by pressing forward forward then an attack button. X does a hard slash, which is harder to combo, but hurts more.
