So yeah, after playing Falcon Squad, I've been thinking about taking Lucon online. The problem is, I have never ever ventured into the online department before. As I understand it so far, basically the master computer is supposed to send variables over to the slaves and vice versa. Thing is Lucon has a CRAPLOAD of variables and I cannot even begin to think about that. Seriously. From blending modes to health, to dual weapons e.t.c. It just sounds next to impossible. Right now, I'm experimenting with online, trying to understand the basic. I think what I'll eventually do is design another Lucon from the ground up for multiplayer only, then integrate that into the single player game.
Also…I GRADUATED FROM HIGHSCHOOL YESTERDAY! Finally! Damn that took too long! Like my family is really really spread out and I tried to get people to come, but they didnt…at least that's what I thought. I went into the ceremony really depressed. When they called my name though, I heard like this freakin' ROAR! It was sweet. After, my family and I were in the commons and I swear, we took up about 1/3 of the commons just us. There were SO MANY of us. My Ex was even there! Then we had a party at home and I was allowed to drink champaign. It was tight. The party was great. I even had someone to do the dishes for me. So basically all I have to do now is re-arrange the house and I'm done. No messy cleaning up, no stress. Also, the girl I hooked up with and I are kind of on different paths, which sucks. She'd be going out of state while I'm staying. I really hate long distance relationships so we'll have to break up eventually. We'll be hanging a lot this summer though.
would be nice to see lucon online ^^
luck about your girl lolCongratulations on your graduation!
In online action game, you need to transfer only very important variables that affects other online players gameplay. In example: Player X and Y coordinates, position (walking or shooting etc.) and so on. You don't have to transfer _every_ variable you have in your game :)transferring a lot of variables is doable. That's how WoW and other professional MMO's work, but it is difficult. I suggest first finding the absolute essential variables, then creating some type of shorthand if possible. Also, minimize the amount of data that must actually be transferred. For example, even though WoW has thousands of different types of armor, each has an ID number that gets transferred, and the rest is done on each player's computer based on that ID.
Damn I'm jealous…uhm wait…no. I mean drinking is like bad and stuff.
I'd hate to have to go to my graduation
