Ok, so I ran across this blooming example at the GMC and i thought to myself, hmm, that's pretty nifty. So I decided to make my own bloom system for Lucon and it's looking pretty good. I think i will mainly use the bloom effect to emphasize something as in maybe when you are in a sunny area, then I will use the bloom to highlight all the whites or yellows and make things look shiny, or if you are in snowy area, I highlight all the blues, you know…stuff like that.
I'm currently having problems with the bloom though as it seems to be incompatible with my "pseudolighting" effect…Edit:Ok guys it's not really "bloom" ok? All it really does is take the assing the drawing region to a surface, then blend that surface into the drawing region with a given color. What you get is something that almost looks like bloom but is no where near true blooming.Geez. I got like a billion PMs asking me about it
Never can have enough GM games with bloom.
At first I didn't know what you were talking about, but now I want to try it in a 3d shoot-em-up game…
A simple way to do blooming is to use modulate2x.
@thernodyI've seen a fair few bloom examples… but no GM games using blooms so far. Show me some? That's why you can never have enough.
