<p>Ahoy there everyone! I'm here today to 'announce' the GMWiki (seeing as how noone goes to the forums anyways…). A few months ago I got the idea that Game Maker has a lot of history. It also pretty much has its own culture. And there are still a lot of stupid people out there who think the manual is too hard to comprehend. Currently the official manual is in quite a static state, leaving the GMC to be the only 'dynamic' support option available (IRC is another option but to be honest, even the GMC shuns your average noob who comes into #GMChat asking for help). *ahem* Moving on…</p>

<h2>The GMWiki</h2>

<p>It looks simple to you. It isn't. The GMWiki is a project that aims to be like wikipedia in the sense that it knows everything. The GMWiki's primary goal is to simply document all the builtin functions that come with Game Maker. But that is a very, very, <strong>very</strong> narrow view. GMWiki wants to know everything about Game Maker. Everything. Is 64digits game maker oriented? Put it in the wiki. Is the GMC a major part of the GM sphere? Put it in there. Who was Mr. Red? Ask the GMWiki. Anyone got a function that works like PHP's explode()? Document it. How exactly does one use the function soc_send_token? Its in there. It is quite an ambitious goal if you think about it.</p>

<h3>Contributing</h3>

<p>On a closing note, when you contribute, please read the guidelines you see upon creating a new article :). Most of the articles have been made by either me or Blitzkrieg and believe it or not we didn't just go about randomly shoving stuff in there. We thought carefully about where to put things and how they should look.</p>
