3D Problems...and a PUMPKIN!

Posted by -0NL1N3- on Oct. 28, 2006, 12:16 p.m.

…well I got 3D Studio Max and I've been slowly modeling things. Today, I made a plane like the Red Baron:

But when I try to load it in Marzipan it takes ages to load and this would most likely kill Game Maker. So, my question today is:

How would I go about reducing the amount of polygons in my 3D model?

In other news, I've been improving my "cartoon-like" drawing skills:

I think it's pretty good. I might make a game with that style of sprites… I'm also using my 1337 skills to make a comic for a GM magazine but you'll know about that later.

I'm working on a Kirby Online game using 39DLL. Toon-Master is being a great help and is trying to figure out how to get rid of the lag.

EDIT: Hey look. I made a pumpkin:

Thanks,

Why do you need him? He is just gonna say 'UDP'.

You could try making your models in something that's made for GM… and you could try lowering the poly density of round objects.

Are there any 3D modeling programs made for GM? And how would I lower the "poly density"? I'm new to 3D.
