64D Spring Competition Info Blog

I want to keep an open communication between myself and all of you for the duration of the initial setup and execution of the 64Digits Spring Competition. I'm going to be using this as a sort of training grounds for the full on GAME JAM I'm going to be hosting later this year, OHJAM (which is a separate entity from this competition).

Let me know if you have anything to add or have any questions on anything!

I respond better to facebook or twitter messages.

For every bad game entered I will kill a puppy

For every puppy Toast kills I will enter a bad game.

For every retort I kill an order of magnitude more puppies faster than the 64digits server's bandwidth can accommodate the uploading of bad games

gms keeps telling me my license key doesn't work, so i decided to re-register for a new key since standard is apparently free again. i register multiple times, the key email doesn't send, then the option to register for standard disappears and my old key stops working. i uninstall gms and head to yoyo to redownload annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd server error

Dude, GMS keeps asking me to register too. It's been like that for a month, but I just keep working through it. Once I get this modular skeletal framework done, I already got the basis done, if I keep having this much trouble I'll just shift everything over to Unity. (It's all just math and draw functions… nothing too hard.)

Can I use music assets that I made pre-competition?

Acid 10 years, 7 months ago

If they are open to public access, even if it's for sale. The main thing is that I don't want you to get a project advantage (working on a specific project beforehand).

I dunno if I'm very early or not, but I submitted my game a while ago. I reached a plotwise point where I could choose to prematurely conclude the plot, or make more levels and end up with a game ending in the middle of nowhere. Unlike several times before, I chose the first option.

….which frees up time to also let me participate in the GMC JAM 14! ^___^ I'm on a game-making spree!
