Some people had some confusing on the voting rules, so I hope this clarifies everything:
Feel free to play, comment, and review games now - this won't have an effect on the voting process.Voting will take place via a poll only available to members. There won't be brackets or finalists, you just vote for whom you think should win - you can choose as many of the entries as you like. Games will place in order from the highest number of votes to lowest. The game rating system will only have an effect if there are two or more games tied. The games will be ranked in order of site score. If, for some reason, multiple games have the same number of votes AND the same game rating, a 50% + 1 poll will take place as a tie-breaker.Voting for your own game is cause for disqualification of that game from prize eligibility.
"Voting for your own game is cause for disqualification of that game from prize eligibility." This applies to teammate too right?
We're going to have to keep a sharp eye-out for shills and dupe accounts during the voting period.
If you worked on a game, you can't vote for it.
Why not disqualify makers from all voting?
Creators are required to vote so that we play each other's games and to increase site activity. If creators were disqualified, a significant chunk of people would be cut out of the voting pool AND some of the people who entered wouldn't even be bothered to LOOK at someone elses game. :P
Yeah, but that wouldn't be very fair. A small team would be at a disadvantage to one person…
There are 35 entries. Everyone will be okay. The quality of your game will shine through the numbers.
Okay fair enough. How will I vote when it starts?
Please read the blog. Voting starts May 8th.
