1.5.0WOO! Beta Demo 3! Secure file saving works, Security works.EDIT:So I found out that it did not like the port number I used for the game. I changed it a good port number. Though there are other issues I am also resolving, so the next beta should be out in a few days with the fixes.Make sure you are registered on http://alertgames.net, and download the demo to try it out!For hosting games, you may or may not need to use the port number: 46649The dropbox has been updated with the lastest version of the API. Next version will just introduce UDP support, and some graphical gimmes. Possibly some more functions to easily call things and save time. (Though if you guys want to help at all that would be awesome. Can learn how the API works and all)Please leave comments as this did take a lot of time and effort to get out to you guys ;)Ask any questions or post any errors you have and i'll check back tomorrow. If you'd like access to the source, let me know with your dropbox email address.-MarkEDIT
The AGMAPI Combines everything you would need in a game for internet-based connectivity, and security. All you will need to end up doing, is slap it into your game, and call the scripts to run. Other than that, you just need to get your verification key from me.Here are some key features:Highscores, Achievements, user avatars and info, friends listsSecure profile savingBranded login forms and (highscores and server list) interfacesA starting point for multiplayer programmingSecurity against memory hacksFrameworks to contain all of these features!Enjoy! - Ask for access for your games today!
:O
I'll have to take a look at this tomorrow.Okay, so here's my experience:
The captchas at your forum are frigging impossible to read. The registration e-mail ended up in Spam on my gmail account. As for the actual demo… what are you actually testing/showing? I can log in. I can run around as a circly thing on a grey background when I pick "Test Host". When I chose "Online" and wanted to host a game, Windows asked me for confirmation and then nothing happened. Test Send Scores took forever so I had to shut the program. One day I'll actually get around to using this.
NEED A UNITY PORT WHILE YOU'RE AT IT.@Cesque:
Yes I know i will fix that right now. Thanks for letting me know. I'll look into it, but usually theres not much you can do.The demo just needs to work in every aspect. The background coding is very intricate to be able to throw it into your game and have it work with a few function calls. As for the test codes taking forever, it was probably my site being slow (usually its not, but very occasionally it is). I want to make it use non-blocking mode and show animation and have ESC cancel it, but it will take a little more work. The Host Game did not work? If you allow, it should bring you to the lobby.@Kilin::D And yes I know. Hopefully some people will help me out with it to speed up the process a lot.Update of website:
Fixed the unreadable captcha (its a bit better now)Fixed registration so that it doesnt show your password.Fixed some other graphics things on the site.Demo seems to work OK - only things were that trying to retrieve player info didn't seem to do anything (not that I knew what to fill out for "player info" on the AG site anyway) and it's fairly easy to make the chat function glitch up graphically by sending long messages.
I tried test-sending a score of "cheese" but it gave me a 0 instead. :cI just tested it and pretty much what everyone else said.
I wanted to play this online with some people, but no one is online. :(okay, cool
can't join, i'm gonna host my own
