Ah you use Arch, awesome fits perfectly within the Arch's way of doing things. I personally prefer to just click 'install' and have my work environment deployed than having to configure and setup everything by hand, that's why I use Mint.

Of course, I definitely wouldn't recommend a setup like mine to someone who doesn't want to have to worry about what's going on underneath. It just works for me, because I absolutely love having that kind of fine-grained control over my system :)

But yes, awesome certainly does resonate the ideas of simplicity and elegance that Arch upholds. I used to run XFCE on all of my linux systems but I started playing around with awesome (and learned vim!) after looking for a configurable interface for a netbook I acquired. I don't wanna turn back now! :P
