Some serious ideas.
I've been trying to find work for two years now. Not a single interview from all that. Heh. And that's trying as anything, from a waiter, to a garden service worker, to a cashier. What I decided to try this year is freelance contract work, in areas such as web development, graphics design, perhaps music, etc.Of course, I could just advertise myself as doing all of the above, but that'd be crazy. So what should I try?Should I just give up on this?Should I rob the bank?*sighs*Why I love LinuxCaution: Contains traces of nuts, sarcasm and failSo, I downloaded the latest version of Wine for my Linux distro (Manually, because my PC isn't connected to the net at the moment). And I then tried to install it. Here's a basic overview of the bash terminal:% cp ./bin/* /usr/bin
% cp ./lib/* /usr/lib
% cp ./share/* /usr/share
% wine
bash -- wine - Could not load wine.so.1 : File too small.

Actually nevermind. That joke sounded way funnier in my head. You should move to a certain country on your continent and commit a certain kind of scam from that particular country that has become famous and well known. If you can't find a job it's obviously because you're a lazy hippy who isn't trying hard enough. Anyone who can't succeed at everything they ever do just isn't trying hard enough. Take it from me, I'm an extremely successful person.
Heh. It's easy to say that from a comfortable position, MMORPGguy. Very easy. Getting work without prior references, especially in this country is very difficult. And my diploma holds about as much value as 4-ply toilet paper.
@Cyrus: I think my neighbors beat me to it. D:@anthonyloprimo: I'll never move to Nigeria.Believe it or not, it is in fact a very challenging task to talk down to people from such a high position as my own. I do it all the time though because as I explained previously, I am an extremely successful individual who regularly succeeds at such strenuous endeavors.
Heh. I already proved I know more than a couple of CS graduates I met, and I have more practical experience. But all the places I'd like to work for all want that piece of paper that I can't afford, because I need a job to get the money to get it in the first place [/rage]
Anyway, there is a market in this country for freelance PHP/JS/HTML/Whatever developers. Just need to make a mini portfolio, and start marketing. I saw a ridiculous job position advertisement for a game development company in this country, and it looked something like this:mak gam, sell gam, mak moenys
ok but srsly this shud bring in a few pennies
