A new real-life drama starring Mega, and the triple-A cast of 64digits!
[/TVannouncerVoice]As you can see, I've designed both a new avatar and a new banner. Last night. Took me… 40 minutes.Right, with that outta the way, I'm working on my game, my music (The adventure song, I'm extending it and fixing it), and of course: web development. I'm often hovering around in the backend of 64digits, looking for trouble. And I'm finally studying both JavaScript and Music Theory. No longer can I get away with my minor knowledge of JavaScript when it comes to this site, and if I want to make good music, I need to know the rules first.Anyway, shorter blog then usual. I must be ill. I'll have to make a new one, ASAP.Watch this space… feel it sucking you in… absorbing your life…
I spent an hour on youtube trying to learn music theory once. I'm sure I wasn't doing it right at all because I came out the other end about as clueless as I came in. How're you studying it?
I would ditch studying theory behind music, and rather start playing around with it instead. Easy music-making programs like eJay is really helpful when starting out, because you get a good grasp on how a tune is constructed while having fun at the same time.
When I first started writing music, I just messed with it like Mordi. You'll eventually notice what notes sound good together when you put enough time in it, and you can later start the actual theory. If you don't, most of the theory won't be understandable to you, while you should understand it at least partly later.
Any other programs besides eJay to mess around in?
I actually started with Sibelius (well a torrented version) and then placing random notes in it. Won't be the best but eventually you'll start to get better at it, even without any theory.
I've been messing around for two years guys. =P
Now I want to learn a few of the rules. Helps with my guitar playing as well, ya know.
