Was bored. Decided to try playing through NES Contra again in one sitting, with no Konami Code, no save-states, etc. Which is the only way I've ever played it :P
My brother and I often used to play this on our NES when we were younger (Along with Super C and SMB3); he isn't that great at dodging bullets, and he'd often end up eating into my lives after losing all of his. But we still usually beat the game pretty well. And no, back then I had no notion that the Konami Code was even a thing. :PEDIT: Oh, and this custom AMV thingy I found earlier:
Oh, the arcade version? I used to play that on MAME a long time ago, and I seem to recall beating it. I'll see if I can get a working ROM set and I'll try it again. :P
Might also try doing a recording of Ninja Gaiden 3, another old favorite of mine.That video~ X3

personally i've never even been able to beat the game, even with the code lol.It was their video that got me to record this one. :P
Though as they mention, two-player is harder. I must get my brother in and see if we can do it in 2P mode. I've also recorded a playthrough of Super C that I pulled off yesterday. 1 life lost. Though in my opinion that game was easier overall.
