I'll start.

Of course, I love the Megaman series music, and one of my favorites in the series is Megaman IV for the Gameboy:

Megaman IV Wily Station

Megaman IV Wily Battle

And more recently, I've been loving the Shovel Knight OST:

I had a fanboy moment when I learned that Manami Matsumae created a few tracks for it too; she was responsible for some of the most memorable tracks from the original Megaman series.

Well I've mentioned mine many times but here it goes:

Ys Seven - Innocent Primeval

> one of the best OST's ever made for a game, every song in it's massive collection is awesome. It amplifies the greatness of the game itself. A great fusion of real instrumental rock music and symphonic music. Most of the Ys games have great music, so check out the other games too.

Mega Man X - Spark Mandrill

> another game with a perfect soundtrack, this is my personal favorite out of every other Mega Man game and it's also the first Mega Man game I ever played. Let's just say it definitely got me hooked. It's tunes are still unforgettable to me and I still listen to them today. Other runners up in the series is Mega Man 9's soundtrack and Mega Man 3's soundtrack. Although most of the classic games have great music.

Shinobi III - Whirlwind

> awesome sega genesis chiptunes. This game has the best music on the genesis (in my opinion) and is one of the best games on the console as well. With a mix of rock, folk and electronic themes, this album contains so much variety and yet it blends together so well. The previous Shinobi games had decent music as well but not up to this one's level.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - Final Boss

> of course we can't forget Sonic 2, one of the most memorable games of my childhood. the game is a masterpiece in 16bit game design. The music is fantastic, the best of the series and the graphics were distinctively pixel art but still extremely well made and beautiful. The final boss was really something in that game, it really was extremely dramatic back in the day, having to defeat two bosses in a row with no rings at all and just the few lives you had remaining was really something. And of course the theme is awesome.

Panzer Dragoon - Main Theme

> this song is undeniably one of my favorite songs of all time, this isn't just for OST's i mean out of all the music i have ever heard. it's very powerful and invokes so much emotion. It's just pure beauty. The orchestral songs in the first Panzer Dragoon game were incredible. They weren't just well performed, they managed to capture the wonderful feeling of flight and freedom with these songs - which is the theme of the game. Flying on the back of a dragon across amazing landscapes is something i'll never stop dreaming of and thanks to Panzer Dragoon, i was able to see it and experience it in some way, even if only virtually. RIP yet another amazing Sega series.

Okay I'll stop here since this list could go on forever with me, I have a ridiculous amount of OST's from games in my collection. So I'll leave you with just a few more mentions here: Grandia 2, Star Ocean: Till The End of Time, Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Skies of Arcadia, Lost Odyssey, Final Fantasy and of course Castlevania. Those are all some of my favorites, many being RPG's which isn't surprising considering the amount of work that goes into the soundtrack of an RPG.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Bastion yet!

Zia's Theme - Darren Korb (Vocals: Ashley Barrett)

Halo 3: ODST has to be one of my favourite (musically) in the series. I've been listening to it a lot recently.

Deference For Darkness - Martin O'Donnel and Michael Salvatori

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was the first in the series (and in the genre) I'd played.

Reign of the Septims - Jeremy Soule

Faster Than Light's soundtrack is my go to when I need to put my thinking cap on.

FTL: Faster Than Light OST - Ben Prunty

Mirror's Edge because . . . Mirror's Edge.

Still Alive - Lisa Miskovsky

Apparently Portal had a track called Still Alive too.

Still Alive - Jonathan Coulton (Vocals: Ellen McLain)

Tower of Heaven deserves a mention:

Tower of Heaven Luna Ascension

And then one of the best soundtracks in a fighting game I've heard recently (DoA comes close in some games):

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R - Awe of She

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R - No Mercy

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R - Suck a Sage

Kicking ass in 2P Versus never felt so satisfying.

Also, the remix of Idaten found in Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed:

Seasonal Shrines - Idaten Remix

The original too

In games there are too many to post. I mostly love mysterious and beautiful songs like in Metroid Prime or the Halo ODST OST.

I love old NES songs too, mostly metroid.
