I had a burst of inspiration about a year ago, then it stopped. But here is the progress… Upload it to your htdocs xampp folder to see it in action. Don't ask me for anything because I've forgotten everything about it and some pages aren't there/done but it's a start.
It's a work in progress 64D template.http://files.64digits.com/Canadonian/64.zip
There are some good ideas here, I really wouldn't mind having your input in V4.
Pros:Smooth visual styleBootstrap - great grids, no tablesTwo columns - much less cluttered than our current threeVery little inline css18 year old age requirement (lol jk but not really)Cons:Lack of responsiveness to size (the other great thing about bootstrap that greatly simplifies mobile dev)Still some clutter such as in the top right corner (also redundant notifications)Login at bottom of pageAs far as V4 goes, I'm already working with a simple placeholder bootstrap design which should suffice for as long as needed. We are using a templating language this time which will make it much easier to swap out entire designs as we go. I will probably start taking hints from these pages here when it comes to general layouts for profiles, comments, PMs, etc., though later design changes will be trivial.Perhaps I am a bit biased but I don't like that design much. It isn't bad, it's just that I wouldn't want 64Digits to look like that.
I'll tell you what I like most about this version of V4 the most…
It's that I was able to merely drag and drop it into my XAMPP folder, and have it 'just work', without having to install and configure whatever frameworks the other iterations decided to use. :PI probably wouldn't use the design. It feels kinda like Bootstrap meets a Wordpress/Blogger page. In other words:Haha Steven, I'm not trying to step on toes here. I just found the folder and thought i'd pass it on for you guys to use or do what ever you want with. It's painfully obvious that I have no place here anymore and I have no intention of trying to re-integrate. Just a gift, if even that.
Hell, I didn't even know v4 was still in the making. It'll be nice to see it come to life one day.
