My Coccyx and The Rice Engine

My Coccyx

So I decided to go snowboarding Sunday with my best friend (bad idea #1)…the problem is that anytime I hang out with him everything turns into competition. He's stepped on a snowboard a total of zero times, and I twice. We decided to skip the bunny hill and go straight to the lift (bad idea #2).

It legit took us 10 minutes at the top to strap ourselves into the board as we couldn't figure it out, and after an additional 10 minutes of trying to stand up we got ready. The idea (bad idea #3) was that like rolling a coin, the faster it goes the straighter it is…too slow and it topples. Without hesitation we set off…

.5 seconds later I fell and did a summersault while he landed on his neck doing the exorcist neck twist thing. This is pretty much how it went down the slope, but honestly by the time we got to the bottom we improved - unbelievably so. The fear of losing countered the fear of dying.

We decided to get "a" drink after another run (bad idea #4). That drink quickly turned from one beer to a pitcher, to shots. The bartenderess kept flirting with me, and she gave me a goblet of vodka. Ok normally you get a shot glass and sometimes if the bartender likes you they'll give you this weird thing that holds like 2 shots. No, she gave me a goblet which was like 5 shots total and I decided to chug it (bad idea #5).

Chugging vodka is bad. Very bad. It hurt and I lost my voice for a day…

Anyways idk wtf we decided to go back up the mountain, but we did. Literally the next thing I remember was going of a jump and landing on my ass. Thus the fractured Coccyx. It sucks because at school if I try to hold a fart in I feel the most incredible pain, and then i cant tolerate the pain anymore and it comes out like a sonic boom and then everyone around ducks, and then tries to act like nothing happened

The Rice Engine

Anyways I decided to work on another prototype for the Flash game engine before actually deploying the online IDE. Reason being is that the bandwidth that would be used in an engine that you code in online (think using gamemaker, but through a web browser instead of a desktop window) is so ridiculous that I would probably go broke in a few days.

Until I figure out a method to compress all the data streams it will be too crazy to host online. Thus I'm creating a desktop version first. The desktop version I decided will be coded in RealBasic instead of Game Maker. Reason is that Game Maker cannot manipulate strings fast enough to allow me to code syntax highlighting for my script editor. I also need it to be crossplatform.

I thought about using the Lateral Game Maker, because I do love the GM IDE but if I decide to market this I wouldnt be able to. I probably will keep the desktop client free, and the web client at around the cost of GM but if I change my mind I will be stuck. The LGM IDE is perfect and fully functional and even more crossplatform than even RealBasic, but again I really need to keep my options open.

Drinking on a Sunday? That is unheard of.

I had my coccyx bent when I was younger from slipping on ice.

I wish it wasn't pronounced the way it is, though, because I got in trouble at school when I said I bent my coccyx.

Still, that really sucks. Get well soon and all that.
