For a while I've wanted to make a music blog. I was searching for a site to host the files on so I could use 64D's handy audio player, but I couldn't. I settled on YouTube, which I really didn't want to because people can easily rip music from it. But anyway, I just wanted a little feedback on some of my more recent pieces.

So I wrote it down, remembered what it was, and altered it to my liking. Unfortunately, the project didn't go through, so I decided to lengthen it and use it for my own. I believe you have musical talent (composition-wise), but the midi-like quality of the songs is just horrible :(
Got any specific parts in mind? Because they're all MP3s with shitty FL Studio instruments.
To be completely honest, I want very badly to create high quality songs like some of the good ones I hear all over. But as far as instruments go, FL Studio is just awful unless you take advantage of DLC (I didn't pay for it, so why would I consider DLC?). I've thought about other tools, but I have no idea what's good (Cubase? Logic? Reason? I quite liked Reason, but it was hard to work with).
Most of the instruments are VSTs and soundfonts. But I wouldn't necessarily say they're all midi-quality. Maybe the first, but some of them I put a lot of work into.For future comments, I'd like more specifics on what needs work, like what instruments, what parts (use the YouTube timer or something), etc.Much appreciated.Ok. 1 thing is reverb, I didn't hear any, while that actually can make the song sound warmer. The other thing is that the samples aren't very good. Most notable are the strings which sound just way too midi-ish.

Glad you liked a song though, Xemic. I liked Soul Witch myself (it's my most recent), and it was fun to compose. But the end of Powerful Foe is the one I listen to over and over again at the moment. I think the violin sample there turned out okay.Powerful Foe is awesome.
