There have been a few blogs lately with this sort of thing as their topic. While not all games can be compared to each other–some have better graphics, some have a better story, some have stunning soundtracks–many of those games that were left somewhere in the middle can find their way to the top of the list next time.
And after all this E3 shit, what better to bring up than something a little unrelated? Instead of talking about the quality of the games released today, let's talk about Game Maker. As a recap for those who don't know what replay value is, it's exactly what it sounds like. A game with a high replay value is one that players are more likely to come back to, whether they want to sit through the whole story again, the gameplay is just too awesome to leave it sitting on your computer, or it's just a nice casual game like Bejeweled that you can play when you're bored.I'll start it off:VariaI liked this game long before I liked shoot-em-ups. And even though I sucked back then, it was always fun to be able to pick up the game later and try again. Shoot-em-ups tend to be quite replayable, as it's usually a matter of how far you can get, kind of like climbing a mountain. Even though the game is short and beatable within twenty minutes or so, you always feel like you're making progress when you memorize bullet patterns and learn new tactics. So let's hear your ideas. What Game Maker games have you been able to go back to time and time again?
I still play Battleships Forever, Deathworm, Hyper Wars, and AG Torque.
I'm gonna have to say Ivan
