I apologize for the long wait after the imposed deadline. School and work have kept me very busy with little more than a few hours at a time to do anything. However, I've finally managed to round up everyone's required information (though it would've been nice if anyone had their cover art source files handy), and your work is done.
The Completition has finally come to a close, and no further submissions will be taken. All finalists listed here are consequently participants in the bundle, so I'll be sending this package off this weekend. As one final courtesy, I'm posting the package here for all of you to look over and decide if anything is missing. Due to the agreement we had regarding the bundle, this will be taken out within the following week. The FinalistsCesque with Fire PointCosine with RegionsDaggerHog with Magical Castlehel with Maiko FusePirate-Rob with Blob: InvasionPurianite with Kizuna
For those of you who succeeded, congratulations. For those who dropped out, we all understand that sometimes life gets in the way and it can't be helped. Even if you didn't finish, there was a lot of good content coming from here and I would love to see these games finished one day.As usual, PM me for any questions (except regarding the bundle, which I will do my best to inform you of as it comes), and please be courteous of my tight schedule. It's been difficult getting this all together. Now if anyone wants to pixel a 16x16 badge for the finalists, I'll certainly let you.Other than that, all I have to say is:ON TO THE NEXT PROJECT!
after all these blogs, the next one better be "64digits Completition VICTORIOUS CELEBRATION"

everything you know is
touhoutofuSo, what are the preferred dimensions for the cover art image / what dimensions do others use / how will it be utilised?
For me, the cover art image is easily the worst part :( What I have right now is more of a very badly proportioned banner image…I wish I could give you an answer, Cesque, but the guy I've been talking to is very busy and hasn't gotten back to me yet. I actually think your current image is a good size, but if I had to assume a cap, I'd say don't make it any larger than your game window. I wonder if we can impose a basic 4:3 or 16:9 proportion for everyone. For videos, just keep the footage under three minutes or so.
Wrote music for my trailer. Next up, an actual trailer!
(Game is pretty much done at this point, might add some more polish but its about ready to ship)I've got a few questions about the bundle.
The original completition post stated that we weren't allowed to distribute our game as freeware in the following month after the bundle, whereas this posts simply states "distribute," not specifying freeware or not. Have the rules changed, or am I still allowed to sell my game during the following month? Am I allowed to release a free demo on websites during the bundle (or even before)? Lastly, what will the bundle price be? I'm planning on selling my game for $5, and I'd like to know if that will be an issue. Also, should I go ahead and start working on alternative distribution? I'm planning on using Steam Greenlight, Desura, the Humble Store, and the Google Store to get my game out to people, and I'd like to be able to distribute keys for these platforms to the people who bought the bundle during/after the bundle's duration. It looks like IndieBundle does Steam and Desura, but I'd also like to know about Google Store (but I'm not too worried if it doesn't happen).Demos are fine. The price is flexible so there's no real price set for each of these games. The idea behind this though is that if people buy the bundle and realize they could've bought it for cheaper elsewhere just by waiting a week or so, it makes them upset. That's why we set it to a month following rather than immediately after. So yes, you can sell it, but try not to make it too cheap until that following month.
If you're planning on other forms of distribution, then by all means go for it. The same rule holds though, but I believe it'll take at least a month for you to get greenlit (due to the obscene amount of followers they ask for), so I'm not too worried about that. Thanks for the quick response! I'm talking to Desura right now about setting up some sort of system where users would be able to get keys and play the game on Desura, but the actual game page would redirect to the bundle page for as long as the bundle runs, since there'd be no real reason to get the game by itself instead of the bundle. I'll keep you posted on how that goes, in case anyone else wants to try and setup the same sort of thing (I'd recommend it!)
