It's been a while since I last did anything here. Life has been busy, and I've gotten myself involved in a lot of other things. For example, I learned a bit of Java and started making a robot do stuff! Unfortunately, the robot needs to be done in a week, and it still has trouble moving around.
Another thing in my life as of late is Portal 2. I've been picking up mapping again, and I produced a pretty cool level if I say so myself. Go check it out:It's the result of 2 weeks of work (Christmas vacation). It was featured in the website's "Community roundup," basically meaning the map was noted for being pretty cool.Speaking of Portal 2, I'm now writing a soundtrack for a mod. I won't tell you which mod it is, but I will show you some of the tracks I've written so far. Here is one, and here is another one.Continuing on the topic of music, take a look at this! It's basically the Humble Bundle of music. Humble Bundle has a bundle out too, but it's ending soon. But enough free advertising for cheap indie stuff; I'm going to bed.
Yup. Get a tracker/sequencer/instrument, and start playing around with different sounds. Guaranteed, what you start making will sound horrible, but try to absorb tips from as many other musicians as you can. Then practice a lot, give it a year or two, and you should have at least some skills by then.
LAR: If you don't have any experience, download FL Studio and watch a tutorial on how to get started with VSTs. Then, make a bunch of crappy tunes. You should just try to copy simple tunes that you know at first. This should help you understand how a tune is constructed.
Nice tunes, Cosine.
>>Java it's a very good programming language. By Java and Core Java you can solve many problems.
