@SixWinged: It'll be released before 2010. And the gameplay? I don't know, But It'll be comparable to a console game.
Isn't beta testing when the game is finished a little short sighted? I mean, full studios get people to test it at every stage of development, to make sure everything works out.
<_< Shhh
Playtesting, then <_<How many units do you plan to sell?
Anyway, @DSG, we had a little IRC convo, and how, precisely, are you going to finance the design creation and shipping of your little controller, and would I, living in england, still get it for the normal price, making you lose out on shipping costs.
Basicly, how the hell are you going to pull it off without making huge losses from your controller?@Living Spiral: How many units do you plan to sell? Let's aim high.

Well, I guess It'll be more expensive over there. Hey, the controller is really simple it's like the size of a gameboy micro and it's super simple: no sensers or anything just a D pad, a primary and secondary button, and a center button, maybe an L and R possibly. The game currently runs using the arrow keys and the Z and X buttons. It's already compatible with a control pad. This shouldn't be a huge problem financially… The technology is alreadyt available Maybe I'll sell it online without any controllers or boxing but just for download to generate revenue or if it really must come to it i'll maybe look into getting sponsered but that won't be fun.I can always get a business loan.
Well, if it's more expensive I guess I won't be buying.
In any case, my question wasn't 'is it possible', or 'how will you pay for them', it was 'How do you plan to design and create them', and 'How will you do it cheaply enough to sell the game at $20 and still make a profit?'I admire your determination, but even with the utmost talent, your goal is somewhat lofty for a single individual to accomplish.
I'm curious to hear the answer to PY's question. Also, you're designing and producing this controller by yourself? Or are you going to pay someone to produce it for you? Or is it just going to be an already existing controller bundled with your game? Also, in response to my question, you said that you're aiming for high sales. This will clearly require a decent amount of advertising. So how much do you plan on spending on advertisements, and where have you considered advertising at?
