Yea, hey listen. This game has just too much damn potential to be the responsibility of just one individual. So…
I'm hoping to round up a team of crack game developers and artists. ALL I REALLY NEED is someone to write the story [the entire story/gameplay of the game] I mean I need a writer who can come up with new ideas for what the character will be doing in the game, where he goes, how the game starts, the goal of the game, the ending, all that good stuff, MAKE IT EPIC. I'm really getting far from the metroidness when it comes to story. Gameplay wise, its VERY metroidy; however I've been trying to come up with a more prince of persia/zelda style story. I also WANT to find someone who can make better ambiance music than I, a fresh mind with a unique approach and unique skills, as well as the resources to create something SERIOUSLY professional. This game is going to be PROFESSIONAL. ENTIRELY, FULLY, PROFESSIONAL. Anyone up to the task of being part of my project?ALSO. I do love the hud in this game how it's all huge and moving and all that, but it simply gets in the way of the visuals half the time. I love it but it must be replaced with something… oh, I don't know… PRACTICAL.Anyway, other news. Cyan is the new orange. I reverted back to the original color concepts, and actually recolored the backgrounds, and turned down the brightness of and desaturated the ruins tileset. FURTHERMORE, my new banner is infact an enlarged and slightly photoshopped screenshot, so… there's what the game looks like now. But… yea. NEEDING writers and creative visionaries for full involvement. OR, just shoot me a concept in a comment, READY, SET, GO.
I'd like to help write/design the storyline if you'd want me, even just giving my thoughts on it. It looks extremely interesting to expand upon.
However I do think it's important for you to think what the game means to you so far, and why it looks the way it does, rather than leaving it to a writer who might not "get it", considering the amount of subtle detail.I'm a coder :) I'm really great at thinking through new things.
I would like to help out, however I do not want to nominate myself since I feel I wouldn't be able to do a good enough job.
Guys, I think what he means by "PROFESSIONAL" is just not making a third grader story like "collect the jewels to complete the level". Actually have purpose to why the character is there, what he is trying to do, and the main challenge he is trying to overcome.also, I think your music is very nice and atmospheric. unique. which is good for the game.
and maybe you could move the hud up a tiny bit. and then when you collect something or use the inventory, it would freeze the game and drop down a different part of the HUD.just ideas..just have the hero collect crystals and save the princess
that plot sells millionsI've got a few ideas. Drop me a line.
It would be cool if this game has a Bioshock-like story.
The frog thing in your banner could be the creator of the place… And well, the place goes to hell like in every shooting game.you need to watch the movie "from dusk till dawn" to learn how the story should get fucked up so randomly in the end. That was a insane movie @_@ go watch it even if you won't use the story format.
@V: Why has he crashed on these alien ruins? the gods have exerted their powers and caused his ship to land there while our hero was in cryo-static space flight. But what would the gods need him for?
@PY: It is indie. I just meant professional quality. Jesus.@eagly: Well, I want something better.@meow44: Contact me when the game's done.@Juju: …well what ideas do you bring to the table?@GHG: Suck Kaz's little wiener.@Ferret: See you have an idea of what I'm looking for. something epic and cinematic.@Kaz: Suck your own wiener. Oh wait… it's a million inches too short for you to do that.@sir Xemic: …yea??@KaBob: Please leave the room before I prove you wrong and break your poor little heart.@F1ak3r: Yea. Exactly.@Toast: PM me.@leemcd56: Ok, show me.@Alert Games: Thank you for your comments of clarity amongst a mist of idiots. I figured it was obvious, but apparently you had to point that out and you did. Thank you. At least YOU get it :D@HeroOfTime: Originality please.@RaiSoliel: You sound confident. I'm interested in what you have to add. I'll pm you after this clusterfuck response.@JID: I forgot what your comment said. But I do like Bioshock.@meow44: (again…) I LOVE THAT MOVIE.
