WANNA TALK NEW GRAPHICS? look at my banner. that's the new background for the ruun temple. ;] IT TOOK LIKE, 2.5 HOURS to pixel that shit.
NEW SCREENS!! These are screens of the Ruun Temple without the sick new backgroundEVEN NEWER SCREENS!! These are screens of the Ruun Temple WITH the sick new background <3So, Theres the main ruins [regular ruins], the Ruun Temple [jungle ruins], the Kaibuu Temple [snowy/icy ruins] and the Sacred Temple [might not keep it]We've also got the Maibuu Sandlands, that would look like the Maibuu Rainlands as far as layout with color palette/tile set/other look differences… I was thinking of making the Sandlands HALF like the original plan and HALF ruins, and all together get rid of the main ruins… So, I suppose I want to just combine the Main Ruins with the Maibuu Sandlands. Hmm… good/bad idea? I CANT DECIDE, BUT I THINK I'M GONNA GO FOR IT.So, FINAL MAP CONCEPT so you can see how I imagine it [sorry it's ugly]ALSO, there's a holy sky temple where you go to battle the deities. woo. good idea??I ALSO WANTED TO ASK, should there be SECRET LEVELS? disguss.[DSG] - pixel art! new background, looking pretty f'in swell

Cesque, if only everyone drew the FPS in such a flashy manner.
Oh, yea the background is very cluttered but it looks a lot sicker in-game. I suppose there IS a lot of green though, it's almost overpowering… hmmm.
All that foilage is making the enemies hard to read because of how "noisy" it is.
I actually like that, tbh. I haven't seen well-done "noisy" graphics in a long while, and it looks better than I'd expect.
The noisy foliage is fine as long as the items of interest are in a contrasting color.
Actually it's a pretty smart (and realistic) idea to have some enemies blend in with the background. Just don't do it too much.
I trust you can tell more easily while playing rather than in screenshots, right?right. AHHH THE GAME'S LOOKING SO GOOD RIGHT NOW OMG i want to release a demo lol
DO EET
Release a demo, it looks amazing. As for enemies blending in, I'm sure it's not as big a problem when everything is in motion.
When you play, the enemies stand out just fine. I'm also planning enemies that appear when you enter the room, like half the enemies are wild life, the other half are these fighting spirit-entities. guardians, ghosts, evil spirits, etc.
