He looks very generic (typical musclebound shooter protagonist). Your old character was at least likable, but I can't find anything about this new one that I like besides the animations.
The character really isn't that much more different, DSG just got rid of the big baby like head of the old character and made the proportions better. I'm pretty certain this is the kind of the character DSG had in mind in the first place.
The kind that looks almost exactly like the player character in Contra or Metroid?
The previous Depths protagonist was kind of… mysterious. You couldn't exactly tell who he was, but this was in line with the bizarre world and his supernatural abilities. This one looks more like your average space marine exploring an alien planet.
There's not much to comment really. Nice graphics, but you knew that already.
This ghost mode… I remember it from your previous demos… but remind me how it is involved in the gameplay? I recall puzzle elements, using them to get to platforms in complicated ways etc. They look like the thingies in Rayman 2.
I don't believe the new character design will take away from the gameplay appeal the first versions had because of the way DSG designed it.It's not a sonic game folks, he doesn't have to be small.
The proportions are still pretty cartoonish if you're aiming for realism. He has a big head and lanky limbs. The doll-like animation only lets that cartoonish trait out even more. In this case, I preferred the old one because he wasn't as "paper doll-ish."
I also preferred the black suit because I am a very grim person.
dull? how so?
