Level One Security Clearance

Apparently I have a Level One Security Clearance for The Front, something that exists only in my dreams, sadly. Hard to explain what The Front is, but suffice to say that it is awesome. It involves me jumping around doing Bourne-Identity/parkour type stuff while being chased by someone (ineptly) trying to kill me. Sort of semi-lucid dreaming. I hope to dream of it again some time soon. *sigh*

Anyways, semi-relevant thing, my birthday is soon, and my friend said he might buy me this hat:

Hats are awesome!

Anyways, in the while since I've blogged, I've been playing a lot of random games, including S.T.A.L.K.E.R., HL2 Ep1, F.E.A.R., Gish (awesome indie game), Hitman: Blood Money, and CoD2. Some decent games. The best part is I'm playing on my awesome new laptop! Yes, my old laptop died (again) but it just needs a new power-jack port because the soldering cracked making it impossible to charge.

Anyways, this laptop is awesome orange and black (how fitting), has a wonderful 4gb of RAM, 64-bit OS, a decent 200gb harddrive, and the main point, a discrete 512mb DDR3 GFX card. In other words, yes, I bought a gaming laptop. Best part is, I got it for 850$USD. The exact same laptop with a 17" screen (this one is 15.4) and a slower processorwas 1400$USD. So I think I got a pretty good deal.

I must acquire Crysis so I can attempt to play it at high settings, because I can :D (that is how they demo'd the laptop, they had Crysis running on it)

I also finished reading Transmetropolitan. If you like cyberpunk, funny, and what amounts to things like computers on drugs and psychotic journalists, Transmetropolitan is awesome. Spider Jerusalem, we salute you! I'm not sure which I liked more - Transmetropolitan, or Watchmen. Watchmen was more serious of course, but Transmetropolitan focused on humor and strange! Friendly warning, Transmetropolitan is definitely rated R, mostly for obscene humor and crude language.

I can't wait for the Watchmen movie.

I also met another UFie, a reader of Userfriendly, while playing Tremulous, instantly recognizable by having the name 'Stef' and making jokes about falling in lava.

Thats pretty much all I can think of to blog about right now.

To finish with something awesome we studied in class:

That video makes no sense, yet it reflects our world so well

And that dream you had will only end like Twilight Zone's Willoughby episode

I heard of Gish. The game has some really good physics to screw around with. :D

You'd probably like Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle, too, in that case.

Also, I have a DVD with that video =D

did you ever get the hat? I hope so, it's a cool hat. What a depressing video… Now he's too far to hear the music, and he can't get to it without losing it….
