Autodesk Maya sucks so bad. I swear. Its buggy. Its UI interface is crap. Its keyboard shortcuts suck. It has pretty much ZERO precision. You get pretty much zero numerical manipulation. You click on something, and it selects a different face or vertex a million miles away, even WITH selecting hidden faces removed. It crashes randomly. Its cut face tool is shit. To do ANYTHING you have to go through a billion menus. To change between face/vertex/object/edge mode is a bitch because 50% of the time it brings up a useless menu instead and deselects everything.
Pretty much Autodesk Maya is SHIT. How in hell it became an industry standard is beyond me. As far as I can tell, everyone uses it because everyone else uses it and they want to be compatible. And to top it off, I have an asshole sitting next to me telling me how glorious Maya is and that I'm stupid for wanting to use a program that works, even though Maya crashed 4 times in an hour on him.
You should have read reviews or gotten someone's opinion on it before getting it.
Poor Dee :(
use MS paint, it can do ANYTHING.It exists to make Blender look better.
When there is a large program, there is one that is just as good somewhere.
Plus, is this some 3D program? If so, try Truespace.I didn't buy it - its on the uni computers and we have to use it.
Owch. Maybe… complaining to the higher authorities will help, and try to get some petition going. *wink-wink*
Cinema 4D
Cinema 4D
Cinema 5D
And if you were to make your own editor that loaded/saved in the Maya format, would they still complain?
Or does Maya use a proprietary format?
