Life:

Started new job two weeks ago, get first paycheck next Wednesday. Will definitely be celebrating. I am a junior iOS developer for Bottle Rocket, and it is quite fun. We have a beanbag office, which was featured in the PVPOnline comic because Scott Kurtz said 'beanbag pit' and one of my newly-found co-workers tweeted a picture of it to him. Next day, BAM, he drew it into the strip. Cool.

Moved into new place, internet is fast when it works, but is absolute shit in terms of stability because its a 50/50 chance of a webpage loading in an instant or not ever loading and you have to refresh manually.

I now have a second laptop, although technically the second one is owned by the company. Having a absolutely enormous 30" monitor (give or take a few inches) is awesome.

I also now have a car, 2000 Volvo S70, okay gas mileage.

Dev:

prismQ is sort of on hold, owing to the massive amount of tiredness resulting from the new job. Trying to get my sleep cycle normalized. I got bosses to program, and levels to design, and not much else.

At work, they've got me working on one of their oldest projects, one that was developed by an outsourced team (ie, the code is hooooorible). It is a project that everyone hates because the internal structure is so screwed up. So my mentor got permission to explore the possibility of rewriting it, and that's my job. So far, it is going good, and is much easier to read/understand/edit than the original code.

Bam. Kit out.

Not as a game dev, just general iOS development. Although I could probably wiggle my way into the game developement section of the company if I wanted to.

Congratulations, dude!

Also, Scott Kurtz (as well as beanbag offices) is awesome.

Volvos are good cars for a number of reasons, but I'd ditch it for a domestic or Japanese car if I were you. Domestic and Jap cars are more reliable, more inexpensive to repair, and tend to have better gas mileage (depending on the car of course.) But if you like it, then more power to you.

Also, congratulations on the rest. :)
