New blog, old week…
GuitarsSomething I always wanted to do was build my own guitar. I would paint it with psychadelic designs and decals like Hendrix did. I don’t like most guitar shapes nowadays. Too many ugly ones like these:Honestly, who would use those guitars. They look painful to handle. Truly are Batman guitars… The only ones I really like are the double cutaways and the famous Les Pauls (which cost a fortune, mind you). My favorite guitar brands: Fender, Ernie Ball (MusicMan Series), and Gibson. I actually quite like Steinberger guitars for their unique shape, but I suppose that would fall under the Gibson category.I don’t really use much distortion in my playing, so I don’t have any distortion pedals. I do have a wah wah pedal for those classic sounds from bands like The Grateful Dead. Something I really enjoy is my guitar slide, which is something used a lot in blues playing. It’s extremely fun to use, but I’m still learning how to use it. They cost around 7 dollars for a pretty decent one, so they are quite cheap to buy. Also, Guitar Hero and all of it’s clones suck. Period. Nothing beats playing a real guitar and actually learning something instead of pressing a few buttons on a fake plastic guitar. Hmm… looks like a toddler guitar.XboxMy best friend just bought an Xbox 360. It’s so goodWe played Halo 3 all weekend on it. And Kane & Lynch, which by the way is an awesome game despite the many glitches and bugs we found. We played ‘till 2 in the morning, which is something I never do. Ahh… good times…Ice tea (lemon) fueled us on the difficult journey, and we nearly finished Kane & Lynch. And Halo 3.Too bad I couldn’t say the same for the numerous essays that were due this week. But I did finish them in the end. Just not on the weekend…I’d also like to take this opportunity to point you towards a really good game. It’s called Elements of Escape, and it’s made by the famous F1ak3r, and the new version was released last Sunday (I think?). Little help from me in the graphics as well ; )But seriously, it’s a good game. It was also in the GM race for a period of time, and it did quite well. Try it out, you won’t be disappointed. TRY IT, I TELL YOU!Another thing… I watched this video about somebody banning somebody else from a track race because of their suit that has to do something with their muslim religion. Just watch this video:http://www.yahoo.com/s/785183I think it's stupid, really, that she has to take religion into sporting. They have no connection. Also, the announcer guy for the news was also full of crap because he said that the muslim religion does not allow women to show their body. Not true at all. I like to consider myself agnostic, but I have a muslim friend and my dad is muslim as well. Nowhere in the religion does it say women are required to cover themselves. This is just a weird thing people came up with to show the world that they are muslim.I’ll add a few questions like usual to finish this blog up.1. Anyone do stopmotion here? I guess claymation counts as well.2. What’s the average age on 64d? It would be interesting to know/3. Nationality? I believe we have quite a diverse range of people here on 64d. Including nationalities. Thanks for reading. That’s all for now (folks…)I’m glad the parser is back up.Welcome back TwistyWristy.
Guitar Hero is a party game =D.
Of course, it doesn't teach you quite like a REAL Guitar does. It's fun though! =D.Aye, those fancy guitars are mostly just for show.
I'm very happy with my Fender :)Yeah, those guitars are pretty ugly. I've got a MusicMan OLP and I really like it. You are right, Guitar Hero is nothing like playing actual guitar and not near as fun, but I do like it.
Guitar Hero is good as a party game, you can't have actual guitar battles, since not everyone can play guitar.`
I personally don't care what the guitar looks like, since it's an instrument, sound is what really counts. Pedals are cool, especially if it's something that can completely change how you play, so it doesn't just make the guitar sound different. Things like delay and whammy pedals.@Distortion: The guitars do look un-playable.
@E-magination: Thanks for explaining :D@Arc: Yeah, they are bc rich.@Kenon: Definitely is a party game.@Poly: Fender ftw!@Nitro: Isn't musicman the ernie ball series? Great guitars…@Biggerfish: I love all pedals, but the distortion ones aren't exactly my thing ; )Guitar Hero 1 and 2 are fantastic games and judging them based on the actual activity would be like saying that Call of Duty 4 is a terrible game because it doesn't compare to shooting people in real life.
Additionally, I might add that BC Rich guitars are fine instruments, and anyone pretending that they don't fall into the same class as Fenders and other mainstream guitars are just kidding themselves, because they truly believe that wanting a guitar that displays a different mindset toward music or just shows a different preference in design is some sort of hint that the owner knows nothing about music. The designs aren't tacky, they're just different. There isn't much you can do in the way of guitar designs, and BC Rich has defined itself in the industry by it's designs because a lot of people do care about their image (sad as it is, that image is now exactly the opposite of what they planned). You people insulting the brand can take your head out of your ass at any time, really…All the Mario series games suck, guys…. it's nothing like smashing turtles and mushrooms by jumping on them in real life.
Yeah, they are Ernie Ball guitars.
They're great guitars. I always wanted one. I especially like the pick guard shape on the double cutaway ones!
