Nooooees. You can do both :D. I always wanted to create a ginormous block and dig through it making paths and whatnot, but after the first deletion, you couldn't really see where your block cursor was anymore.
There'll be an option to turn it off.An option does solve that issue. Try and make a classic version with all the limitations - keyboard-based level editor, no ladders, line-of-sight et cetera.
