Guys… Guys.ll likeI'm kinda buzzed right now, but in my buzziness, I managed to finally finish my final piece, which is the District 9, HL2- Dog looking, Geth thing that took way longer than it should have cuz I got lazy. So likeYea.I shouldn't drink while drawing, but in any case, here are new pics. This started out as a very simple, very quick doodle. And eventually I just got carried away with the design because I loved the perspective.I was bored in class, so I drew one of my classmates without him knowing in my sketchbook. I eventually turned him into some cool looking Russian dude.I've gotten people say 'that looks like Dog'. My gf says it reminds her of a Geth. Personally it reminds me of something from District9. In any case, it's a robot of sorts.I'm thinking of doing my next four drawings on a theme. Give me theme ideas gaiz, I know you got em! But not too weird or crazy, and relatively badass, kthnxbai.
How is it that your drawings just keep getting better?
I fucking hate you.I'm getting IceFrogged again…
@JID: Man I don't know! I'm just glad to still be progressing :3
@Mega: Links have been switched over to hotlinked images from my DA for anyone receiving those inconvenient icefrogs.Love them, as usual. I'm still trying to finish my mecha. Got sidetracked by the cold.
That last one reminds me of something from District 9 as well. Specifically, that robot/mech suit that the protagonist used. That film was hilarious. You should go for Japanese samurai as a theme.
Or rule 34 Gundam x Japanese Idol as a theme.Or draw personifications of popular web interfaces.Awesome art. I can't believe I'm just now getting around to asking this but what program do you use?
The number of drawings he did "while in hospital" should be warning enough.
you should try doing more landscapes and full scenes, most of your stuff seems to be just characters standing on their own (not that they aren't fucking epic anyway)
Okay, so… lots of comments to go through here.
@Mega: Man, I hate drawing when I have a cold, like, I just can't. Even when I'm feeling groggy, the ideas just are -not- there.@Juurian: Now that sounds like a good idea with the samurai stuff, hmmmm. @Poly: That is some freaky shit, man. xD I could eventually try that kind of stuff out though.@Rez: Thanks, well, for the most part these were made in a groupboard sketcher where you can draw with others at the same time. So I use that to sketch out the values and get it all set up. I then take what I have and throw it in PS where I tweak bits up, add finer details, and add color.@Toast: @_@@Moikle: I actually have tried my hand at scenery and full scenes. But I soon realized, thanks to the advice of many other concept artists, both amateur and professional, that it's best to find your niche and get reaaally good at it, instead of trying to be a jack of all trades master at everything. That being said, I'm primarily a character artist, that's where my head is going to be for a very long time. Though I can do weapons, and props, I can also 3D model. And I've done landscapes before… but they suck and I hate them. Also thanks haha. Here's some example landscapes. And here is an old full scene. Cheers
