While http://campnanowrimo.org delights in making cutesy summer camp references, I thought I'd go with another camp metaphor: climbing a mountain1. We'll start here, with the base camp blog, and then make another every week, or at another interval. I'll take care of this week's administration, and then we can take turns doing the following weeks.
Let's use this site to do our chatting and what not, seeing as CampNano's servers are hopelessly overburdened and will likely continue to be for at least another few days.1 – And then I realised, too late, that a campy metaphor would have been even better!
Hmm… You can upgrade my word count to 1036 for now. I aim to have written about 2000 words by the end of the day.
So far, my story has a post-apocalyptic city, discrimination against the poor, mercenaries, mysterious men in darkened rooms and ladders. Because ladders.ARGH
I'm supposed to be hosting 64wrimoit's like nanowrimo but only 3000 wordsFOR ALL YOU LOVELYLAZIES OUT THEREbrb making blogARGHuh
i liedit's actuallySIXFIVE THOUSANDI'M KEEPING IT AT 3,000dundundunnnnthat makes more sense i guess i forgot how big wordcounts are really supposed to beI'd actually really dig a six hundred word event. Flash fiction is the shizzle. And the challenge would be using fewer words.
Finally got around to updating my novel on the site, but I'll go ahead and post here.
Since I decided to take part of the story from a 64Jam game, the working title is Anima, and it's about a girl who is possessed by a reaper in return for it sparing her life. In addition, an alternate persona awakens inside her and threatens to take permanent control of her body and the reaper that resides within her.I'm pleased to hear people are making so much progress.I'm at 1052, but I've been going all day and need a bit of a nap before doing more.
My novel is a fantasy about people with the power to interact with and change other peoples dreams. (don't worry, noting like Inception).Writing is addicting…
2958 words now… means I have less to write tomorrow, technically speaking, but I don't know whether I'll hold to that or not.
