Naked Farmer update

I've been working on Naked Farmer like mad in my spare time, and it is close to being ready for the 64Digits database… Only my third game submitted in years. It's amazing how many projects I've started, gotten really excited about, and then quit.

Anyway, here's some new stuff.

Solid walls connect now. Much nicer!

I added a fun new feature–the mailbox. Some mornings, a letter will pop out.

Mouse over the letters to read each one!

Some messages are tips and some are just for fun, adding more depth to the game, story-wise. There are over 70 unique messages that I've created. I even plan on some of the letters coming with little 'attachments' if you get lucky!

I've also added a new seed, the yellow (melon) seed. These seeds, when fully matured, sell for 50 points, and grow at a moderate pace. However, if it should rain, they die. Kind of the opposite of the purple (eggplant) seed I added yesterday. Only Poachers can drop melon seeds.

There's a new enemy to watch out for as well–the exploding slime. These motherfuckers will suicide into your structures to blow them right the fuck up. It's scary, especially if you let one open up a huge pen full of animals.

You can no longer place items on top of each other (except certain cases like putting Torches on Walls) and this has made the construction mode much easier to use. You can also now just click and drag to build Plots or Walls with ease! The whole experience is much more user-friendly as a result.

I actually like the blocky feeling.

It was interesting. I didn't play much but I will probably try it again in the future. The torches felt a bit dizzying.

Red slimes are OP! Makes it hard to protect your house…

Anti aliasing the visible light around the torches might look better.

Maybe also maybe make them shake/expand/contract less

Some things, since I just got around to playing this

- it took me a little while to figure out i could build things other than plots by using the scroll wheel…

- seems like the instance count gets high fast - game starts lagging when lots of enemies leaving footprints all over the place, plus having to clean up all the bullet marks just so the game lags less is a pain (some kind of optimization issue i think - i get the idea behind cleaning up the property and all, but i'm getting slowdowns on a computer with 8gb ram here)

- there are a LOT of poachers

- explodey slimes are really annoying when it's pitch black and you can't see beyond the torchlight perimeter and oh look now the wall is gone and you can see even less because the explosion took out the torch too -.-

- getting one-shotted by poachers who come out of nowhere: wat

it is pretty fun though

EDIT: kill message: "You idiot"

well fuk u 2
